Can you believe we had cousins in California that we had never even met?! We drove almost three hours from Palm Springs to get to their house. When we pulled up, it looked like magic, with the whole yard filled with Christmas decoration and lights. And when we walked inside it looked like a mansion with fancy, beautiful Christmas decorations and giant nutcrackers (Grier’s favorite) everywhere!

And it only got better from there! When we walked into the kitchen, the table was covered with all sorts of treats and in the center of the table was a GIANT fondue fountain, pouring chocolate! Best. Lunch. Ever. Grantie Kelly and Gruncle Wes (get it? great aunt and uncle!) were so sweet and said they tried to plan a fun new experience since this is our year of new experiences.

A little later, our second cousins, Rhett and Kennedy arrived with their parents. They were so cute! Rhett was almost two and Kennedy was almost four. We played with them and got to give them little presents we bought. We gave Kennedy a horsey lego set and she liked it so much she asked Grier to take it apart for her so she could rebuild it. For Rhett, we got him a cute train duplo set that Demory helped him with and he and Sayer had fun playing with for a while. Sayer loved playing with their French Bulldogs, Mochi and Katie and spent a lot of time running in circles with them chasing him. Grier also had fun running around with them and Kennedy in the back yard.

It was the best visit ever! Now that we met everyone in person, we really want to see them again and hope they come visit us when we’re back in Charlottesville!
The End (no, don’t write “the end”, it’s not a fairy tale, Grier!)
