We’re so excited to finally share our itinerary! This adventure has been many years in the making, and we've poured a lot of thought and love into planning it. We've already snagged reservations at some of the harder-to-book spots, but we’ve also left plenty of room to be spontaneous and go with the flow.

There was (and still is!) so much to consider, and at times the planning felt totally overwhelming. We started with the big stuff, birthdays and holidays, and figured out where we wanted to be for those special moments. Each of the kids chose a birthday destination: Demory went big with Disney World, Grier (our lucky little traveler) gets to celebrate twice on the road and chose a water park and the Smoky Mountains to catch the synchronized fireflies. Sayer is still weighing his options, but he’s got some fun ideas in the mix.

With those dates set, we moved on to the big national parks we didn’t want to miss. And finally, we got to fill in the map with visits with the people we love most.

If you’re curious to see our full route, we’ve embedded our interactive Roadtrippers itinerary right here in the blog. You can explore it, zoom in, and even follow along as we make updates throughout our trip. (And yes, figuring out how to embed that code was a proud moment! This journey has come with its fair share of steep learning curves, and I’m doing my best to embrace every one of them.)
